How to Get Found
How will mentees search for me?
Mentees mainly search for "unambiguous" information in your profile, i.e. information that you have chosen from a selection of fields, such as a degree programme or industry.
Via the free search functionality, mentees can also search for information in your profile that you have entered in text fields, such as "Organisational Psychology" as a speciality or "Coaching" as an additional training.
How will I be found?
As a first step, the software picks three mentors for mentees to choose from, indicating the match percentage. We know from experience that mentorships can be successful with a match of as little as 50 percent, which we also tell mentees to keep in mind when searching for their mentors.
How can I manage my profile's visibility?
Your profil pages can be viewed in detail by registered mentees only. Your master data, with the exception of your degree programme(s), will remain invisible. Mentees will only be able to access the mentoring-related data you have entered. By clicking on the i-symbols next to the data fields, you will find additional information, e.g. a specification that certain data will not be displayed to other users.
How fast will I be found?
How fast you are found and how many mentorship request you get can vary greatly. Our mentee information events at the beginning of each semester and the annual alma Convention usually lead to a boost in requests.
Indicate Your Availability
In the "Mentoring" section of your profile page you can indicate your availability as a mentor. When taking on a mentorship, please remember to change your availability settings so as not to receive any further requests.
You can also set your availability to "dormant" in case of longer absences. This gives you access to certificates from past mentorships and allows you to reactivate your profile at any time. Once deleted, your profile and all your data will be permanently removed from the system in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations and cannot be restored.
Mentorship-Requests
You will receive mentorship-requests directly by e-mail. They consist of a short e-mail text and a standardised application form, which mentees fill out on the platform.
The application forms will give you an overview of the mentees' professional situation, their career goals and ideas as well as what kind of support they hope to receive from their mentor.
You can either accept or reject the mentorship-request by clicking on the respective link in the e-mail.
